Ken Trogdon Receives Order of the Palmetto

Ken Trogdon, Chief Executive Officer of CommuniCare in Columbia, received the Order of the Palmetto this week for working to bring healthcare to low-income South Carolinians. Rep. Chip Huggins, R-Lexington, presented the award Wednesday on behalf of Gov. Mark Sanford, who issued a statement praising Trogdon's vision and efforts on behalf of the working poor. CommuniCare is a nonprofit organization that coordinates a network of services and medications for low-income, uninsured residents. Trogdon, 43, has led the organization since 1997.
